Publishing
One of the dreams and goals of any songwriter is to become published.
But what does that really mean?
First and foremost what
you are trying to do with publishing your songs is to begin
generating income from their use. This can be from royalties
associated with getting recorded on an artist's recording, radio
play, or from other areas like film or television use.
As we are also a busy artist
production company we are constantly looking for songs for our
artists to record. Masterscore Music has been a feeder for our
artists through the years, whether it's songs co-written with
producer Eric Copeland, or writers we work with doing demos
and arrangements.
Is Masterscore Music
a publishing company?
No, we are not
able to publish your song directly, and our job is only to help
writers get great sounding demos and help you develop into a
better songwriter. However, we do work with artists every week
who need songs for their projects. As these projects come along,
we often are able to pitch songs to them that we have arranged
or done demos for.
Examples of this? Birmingham
artist Chris Cline was looking for songs for 2005 release "Just
in Time". Album producer Eric Copeland had just arranged
a song called "All Over Again" by songwriter Dave
Tanigawa. It had an acoustic country feel and was a perfect
fit for Chris' laid back style. Chris loved it and recorded
it on his album. Check out the Listen page
for an example.
We can always certainly
promise a fantastic demo production and arranging services,
but there is also the strong possibility that one of our artists
will need a song, and we will remember that song from doing
the demo (plus have a great demo to show the artist!)
